Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

CPT is a trauma-focused therapy designed to help you move beyond your trauma. It is typically 12 sessions and includes daily written assignments. In CPT you write about your trauma and your thoughts. The focus is on the connection between your thoughts and feelings: “thinking about how you’re thinking.” In CPT you learn how to challenge beliefs that may have changed due to trauma in 5 core areas: Safety, Trust, Power & Control, Esteem, and Intimacy.
